    Ominous clouds hung in the sky over the Mauville-adjacent route, dark and menacing with the promise of an impending storm on the horizon. Quinn had spent hours setting up the Weather Institute’s severe weather mobile research center, making sure that the ground anchors were set firmly in place.

    “Should be soon...” He muttered to himself as he stepped out of the truck, watching the nearby trees bend and twist with the increasing wind, the rumble of thunder in the distance. There was only one thing missing from the equation, @aria . She agreed to come observe the unexpected storm cell with him, and likely would be arriving before long.

    After their last encounter, Quinn was admittedly nervous to be spending time alone with her again. Would something similar happen this time? There was no doubt in his mind that he’d been thinking about her ever since that day.

    Quinn jumped slightly at the sound of her voice. “O-oh, hey!” There she was, just as beautiful as he remembered. “Thanks for coming, Aria.” He smiled, an embarrassed flush on his cheeks, faint but noticeable.

    He glanced towards the truck at her mention, opening the door to allow her entrance inside. “Belongs to the Weather Institute, for mobile storm observation.” The door closed behind them as they entered with the force of the wind. “No windows for safety, but…”

    A few keys were tapped at the control center and the wall opposite them illuminated with the external view of the truck, almost as though there was a window. The wall was lined with a seamless ceiling-to-floor monitor displaying a camera feed from outside. “...the view is still nice.”

[attr="class","aria"]she takes a moment to glance around in slight admiration as she eyes all the truck has to offer. it's plain at first, and she's about to comment on it before she hears him tapping some keys. the wall flickers to life, revealing a perfect view of the outside.

"it's really nice."

she shrugs her coat off, hangs it on one of the chairs before she sits. she swivels, turning her body to face him.

"walk me through it, quinn. what's our plan today?"

“Well, our plan isn’t exactly glamorous.” Quinn glanced over the monitors and radars, making sure that nothing had changed since the last he’d observed. “All we can really do is wait and watch.” A soft sigh escaped from his lips and he turned to look Aria in the eyes, a sheepish smile on his face. “Sorry, I know it isn’t as entertaining as evolution research.”

He stepped over to one of the cabinets, opening the door and revealing a miniature fridge tucked inside. “Want anything to drink? We have water, some alcohol, and some juices. no apple, unfortunately.” Quinn smirked, mimicking her offer from their first meeting.

“O-okay.” She called him cute and that was more than enough to make him flustered, reaching for the bottle of wine that was being chilled inside. “So, how have you been?” He asked, making idle conversation while he poured the contents of the bottle into a set of glasses.

“Here you go.” Quinn handed the glass over to her and took a seat beside the woman, the sound of rain beginning to patter against the roof of the truck. “It’s supposed to be a strong one. We might be here a while.” He glanced towards the monitor, the darkness beginning to creep in from the storm clouds.
